Casa de les Punxes offers tours and activities aimed at different school years tying in with the museum’s museological discourse. Enjoy guided tours of the building and/or activities centred on four main themes: the legend of Sant Jordi, the work of artisans, the building’s architecture and the life and work of the multifaceted Josep Puig i Cadafalch.

The educational scheme of Casa de les Punxes is to offer activities for children and young people seeking to learn more about the historical and artistic heritage of Catalonia through observation, reflection and participation. The activities, understood as spaces for growth, foster the acquisition of habits and values to solve problems and situations by involving all curricular areas.

Activity on the origin and evolution of the legend of Sant Jordi

Why is the legend of Sant Jordi a tale with such profound symbolism for Catalan culture? Through the art of conversation and a creative and dynamic approach, we will discover the origin and evolution of the legend of Sant Jordi by means of oral and interactive games.

Activity on the decorative elements of Casa de les Punxes

Whilst we allow ourselves be surprised by the rich decorative arrangement that Puig i Cadafalch developed alongside numerous artisans in Casa de les Punxes, we will foster our creative ability, visual memory and imagination. We’ll finish the session by creating a piece of stained glass or ceramic with our hands!

Les Punxes: The architectural mystey

Activity on the building and its artistic and historical context

How are the domes that crown each one of the towers supported? What were the new architectural developments at the start of the twentieth century? A fun step-by-step workshop in which, throughout the activity, we will discover, through the stimulation of critical observation, the architectural innovations that Puig i Cadafalch applied to Casa de les Punxes, as a result of the technological advances stemming from the Industrial Revolution.

Activity on the life and work of the multifaceted Puig i Cadafalch

Architect, politician, historian, urbanist or archaeologist? Through his secret documents we will explore the historical and political trajectory of Puig i Cadafalch whilst creating awareness on the importance of the conservation of historical sources.

Learn to decipher the biography of the architect from primary documentary sources.
